I have always done endurance sports, more specifically marathons and I had just started triathlons. I felt like I was stuck in a rut and needed to change up my routine. CrossFit seemed like a good opportunity.
I was very skeptical at first but I instantly fell in love with the team concept. It didn’t matter you if you were the first one done or last one done, we all cheered and waited for one another. My love for CrossFit and the camaraderie has only grown stronger. I also had never been a big weight lifter and was very nervous that I would get too bulky. That was definitely not true and I love to see how much body has changed over the last 11 months.
I think going to CrossFit everyday is a bright spot for me. I think getting my first rope climb was my first bright spot. That had been a goal since middle school and I never dreamed it would come true.
I am currently about to compete in my first half Ironman but after that I would like to work on some personal goals such as getting my first pull-up. I want to be stronger and CrossFit will definitely help with that.
My favorite memory at CFFC is the CrossFit Open. I was very hesitant to join the open because I didn’t think I was ready or a “CrossFitter”. The love and support of the community and teammates really made it special.
I was faced w/ the option of physical therapy or back surgery from an old football injury. After discussing one on one w/ Matt, I felt comfortable giving CrossFit a go instead. I can happily and successfully report that after three months, I am nearly pain free. There has always been a welcoming environment and knowledgeable, caring coaches. Thank you, CrossFit.
Great facility, always clean. Plenty of quality equipment. Numerous class times. 24 hour access. Competent coaches. Friendly atmosphere.
