Through teaching proper movement patterns and body awareness, we want to provide a fun and safe environment for children to develop a fitness routine before poor cultural habits creep into their life.
We want to provide a general fitness regimen for pre-teens and teens as an avenue to maintain the fitness standards required to participate in their chosen sport. Equally important, pre-teens/teens not participating in sport will be provided an alternate route of participation in daily physical activity.
We help build an energy filled life with our adults. They will learn basic and complex movement patterns that they’ve long forgotten how to perform. Our adults build fitness, strength, and nutritional awareness over a period of time leading to weight loss, self-confidence, and generally feeling better.
What Is CrossFit?
“Constantly Varied” means that the workout (or “WOD”) will change everyday. At CrossFit Final Call you will squat, press, deadlift, clean, and snatch a barbell. You will jump and climb ropes, swing, snatch, and clean kettlebells. You will work on different gymnastic movements. Dips, rowing, running and box jumps will also be incorporated into the WODs. Everyday a there will be a different workout that will mix and match these different movements to improve your fitness.
“Functional Movement” are the movements that prepare you for life! At CrossFit Final Call we want the movements in our workouts to mirror what you do in your daily life. Every day we pick thinks up, put them down, move objects, squat, bend, push, and press. We will teach you the correct positions for each movement, but it is your job to apply it to what you do outside of the Box.
“High Intensity” is a key element in fitness. Intensity is a measurement of how fast you can get real work done. Intensity is the sum of the amount work you do and the amount of time you do it in. So, the faster you can do the work the more intensity you will have in your workout. Yet, intensity is relative to the person. The beauty of CrossFit is that the same workout can be scaled up or down to each individual to give them just the right amount of intensity. A pro athlete and your grandmother can do the same workout scaled to their ability level and receive the same amount of intensity in any given WOD.
The best thing about CrossFit is that we are all in it together. It is a place where a community can come together and push one another to become better than they were yesterday. Rarely in a sport do we see the last to finish cheered and celebrated louder and with more enthusiasm than the winner.
